Frequency Clock

A live clock paired with a pure-tone generator — watch the time and play any frequency (Hz) you like.

The frequency clock combines a live digital clock with a tone generator. Set a frequency in hertz (Hz) and press play to hear a clean sine wave, while the current time ticks above. Handy for tuning, hearing tests, sound experiments, or playing a background tone while you work.

What a frequency (Hz) is

Frequency measures how many times a sound wave repeats per second, in hertz. Low numbers are deep bass; high numbers are treble. Human hearing runs roughly 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. The tone here is a pure sine wave — a single, clean frequency with no overtones.

Play responsibly

Start at a low volume: pure tones can sound louder and harsher than music, and very high frequencies can be uncomfortable. This is a novelty and utility tool, not a medical or therapeutic device — treat any health claims about specific frequencies with healthy scepticism.

Frequently asked questions

What frequency should I use?
Any you like within 20–20,000 Hz. 440 Hz is the standard 'A' used for tuning; 432 Hz is a popular alternative. Start quiet and adjust.
Do I need headphones?
No, but they give a cleaner tone. Keep the volume moderate — pure tones can be surprisingly harsh.
Is a specific frequency good for my health?
We make no health claims. This is a fun, practical tone tool; be sceptical of strong 'healing frequency' claims.
